Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
in West Palm Beach and Jupiter, FL
Round, firm breasts are a sign of youth, vitality, and femininity. As women age, have children, or lose a significant amount of weight, their breasts tend to lose their firmness and begin to droop and become “pendulous.” The problem of sagging breasts can be corrected through a procedure called mastopexy, better known as a vertical breast lift or simply a breast lift. If you are interested in this procedure and live in West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Palm Springs, Wellington, Lake Worth or any surrounding areas of South Florida, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with one of our board certified plastic surgeons.
How is a Breast Lift Performed?
A breast lift is often performed under general anesthesia. Once the incision is made, excess skin is removed and breast tissue, the nipple, and the areola are all re-positioned. The breast is reshaped from pendulous to a rounder, firmer shape. Breast lifts are performed as an outpatient procedure and can take anywhere from one to three hours to perform. Following the procedure, it is not uncommon to experience soreness and general discomfort for one to two days, but this can be easily managed through the use of over the counter or prescription painkillers. As part of the recovery process, a surgical bra must be worn for a few days immediately following the procedure. After that, a soft, supportive bra must be worn around the clock for the next three to four weeks to ensure safe, proper healing of the breasts.
How Much Does a Breast Lift Cost?
To determine the cost of your breast lift, we invite you to schedule a private consultation at our practice. During your consultation, we will assess your cosmetic goals in order to pursue a treatment plan that matches your unique needs. Then, we will be able to provide you with a clear breakdown of the costs associated with your treatment. At Plastic Surgery of Palm Beach, we offer a wide array of monthly payment options to help you reach your individual wellness, beauty, and performance goals. We accept major credit cards, and our financing plans include CareCredit® and Alphaeon® Credit.

What Types of Breast Lifts Are Available?
The two types of breast lifts are:
- Periareolar Breast Lift: During your periareolar breast lift, an incision is made around your areola (skin around the nipple). Our highly trained Plastic Surgeons will then tighten the breast tissue and remove your excess skin.
- Vertical Breast Lift: During the procedure, an incision is made along the natural contour of the breast.
Mastopexy is a procedure that can be performed alone or in conjunction with breast augmentation surgery. Because a loss of elasticity in the breasts can often mean a slight reduction in size as well, some patients choose to have implants in addition to a breast lift for optimal results.
